Think Your ADHD Brain is Broken? Here's What to Do
Wednesday Mar 13, 2024
Wednesday Mar 13, 2024
Welcome to the Self-Love Women Way podcast, I'm your host, Jen. In today's episode, we delved into the intricate ways our minds perceive ADHD and how societal expectations can weigh heavy on our self-perception. It's fascinating how we navigate through the subtle messages that tell us our brains are somehow broken and need fixing. Drawing from personal experiences, I shared moments where I found myself grappling with the need for rest while battling internal voices urging me to keep pushing forward, associating rest with inadequacy. This internal conflict, I realized, isn't unique to me but resonates deeply with many, especially women, in a society that glorifies productivity over self-care.
As we journeyed through the complexities of ADHD, I highlighted the importance of self-compassion and acceptance. While acceptance is crucial, I introduced the idea that true transformation comes from embracing self-love—cherishing ourselves despite the challenges ADHD presents. Through introspection and self-awareness, we can start unraveling the layers of shame and criticism, offering ourselves the kindness and understanding we readily extend to others. This episode encouraged listeners to explore their inner dialogue, question societal norms, and embark on the path toward self-love and acceptance.
Thank you for tuning in, and remember to share your thoughts and experiences with us. Your feedback and contributions enrich our community, fostering a supportive environment where women can embrace their uniqueness and thrive. Until next time, take care and continue nurturing the love within.
